Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern the provision of translation and interpreting services (the "Services") by Tatkowski Interpreting & Recruitment Limited (CRO 803790) ("we", "us", "our"). By engaging our Services you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use our Services.

1. Services

We provide: (a) certified and non-certified translation; (b) interpreting (on-site, remote, telephone). Any specific scope, price and delivery timeline will be confirmed in writing (email or signed agreement) prior to commencement.

2. Quotes & Pricing

Quotes are based on the materials supplied. We reserve the right to adjust if the final scope differs (e.g. additional pages, illegible content, format recreation). Unless otherwise stated prices are in GBP (British Pounds). Interpreting minimums are charged at the agreed hourly or package rate.

3. Delivery & Turnaround

Turnaround estimates begin once we receive clear, legible source materials, confirmation of scope, and payment in full. The estimate confirmed at point of purchase, in the SmartQuote panel or in a written quote, is the contractual delivery window; longer or more complex documents are confirmed individually. We commit to reasonable endeavours to meet that window. If we cannot, we will notify you with a revised delivery date as soon as we are aware. A delay does not, by itself, entitle the customer to a refund. Refunds are reserved for cases of impossibility, where we are unable to source a qualified certified translator for the language pair and certification standard required. Delivery is electronic (PDF) unless hard copies or certified print packs are explicitly requested.

4. Certified Translations

Certified translations include a signed translator statement. Where required we can coordinate solicitor or notary certification. We do not provide or arrange apostilles; if your document needs one, get it apostilled first and we translate it, including the apostille. We do not guarantee acceptance where third party requirements change or are misrepresented by the client.

5. Interpreting

For on-site interpreting the client must provide accurate timings, address and context. Waiting time and over-runs may be chargeable in quick increments. Cancellations within 24 hours (standard bookings) or 48 hours (full-day / multi-day) may incur up to 100% of the fee if we cannot reassign the interpreter.

6. Payment

Unless agreed otherwise in writing, translation and interpreting services are paid in full in advance, before work begins. With business clients we may agree to 50% on confirmation and 50% before delivery. Late payments by business clients may accrue interest under the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998.

7. Confidentiality & Data

All client materials are treated as confidential. We store project files securely and only for as long as required for quality, legal or accounting purposes. Personal data is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

8. Quality & Corrections

Translation queries must be raised within 5 business days of delivery; legitimate errors will be corrected promptly. Style preferences not shared prior to production are not considered errors. Interpreting accuracy is provided on a best professional effort basis.

9. Limitation of Liability

Our aggregate liability for any claim arising out of the Services shall not exceed the total fees paid for the specific assignment. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profits, or regulatory penalties arising from misuse or alteration of delivered materials.

10. Cancellations & Refunds

Work already completed remains chargeable. Cancellations requested by the client after work has commenced are subject to a pro-rata charge for hours already worked. Prepaid urgent translation fees are non-refundable once resources are allocated. Where we cannot source a qualified certified translator for the language pair required, we will issue a full refund within one business day.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
