Why Ukrainian Interpreting Is Its Own Category in the UK
The Ukrainian interpreter caseload in the UK reshaped from February 2022 onwards. Homes for Ukraine, the Ukraine Family Scheme and the Ukraine Extension Scheme brought Ukrainian arrivals under a bespoke Home Office framework that runs alongside the standard asylum route (which most Ukrainians do not take).
Ukrainian carries a specific compliance and clinical context. We can put an NDA in place on request. And, plainly: Ukrainian is a distinct East Slavic language from Russian, and institutional bookings should specify Ukrainian.

Sponsor rematching, status conversions, and biometric appointments.
Schools

Local Authority Housing & Community
Local authority housing coordination for Ukrainian arrivals: host-family placement reviews, sponsor rematching sessions, homelessness prevention casework, adult social care assessments and community integration meetings.
Benefits & Tax Appointments
Universal Credit inductions and reviews for Ukrainian arrivals and their sponsors, PIP assessment interviews, and support-related sessions across public sector benefit and tax touchpoints.
Ukrainian Interpreter and Ukrainian Translation Together
Interpreting and document translation are separate services with different production paths, but the same booking can carry both. For example, the interpreter attends a solicitor consultation about a Ukrainian passport, a DRACS civil registry birth or marriage certificate, a Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine legalised document or a Diia digital-services document snapshot that needs to accompany a UKVI application. The document is then translated as a certified translation.
See Ukrainian document translation for the paperwork side of a Ukrainian file, including DRACS civil documents and Ministry of Foreign Affairs consular routing. Same rate card in sterling, invoiced together on request.
Frequently Asked Questions
How quickly can you book a Ukrainian interpreter in the UK?
Urgent requests are confirmed as soon as an interpreter is free, subject to availability.
How much does a Ukrainian interpreter cost in the UK?
Remote (phone or video) Ukrainian interpreting starts at £49.99 per 30 minutes. On-site business or medical starts at £149.99 per hour. Court and legal work and police station attendance under PACE Code C are quote only. Final price confirmed before booking, based on language, location, date, duration and availability. Minimum booking applies, and travel outside the city is quoted separately. All rates fixed in writing before the assignment.
Which appointments can a Ukrainian interpreter be booked for?
Ukrainian interpreting can be booked for medical, legal, education, housing and benefits appointments, and for immigration casework with solicitors.
Do you handle Ukrainian for Homes for Ukraine casework?
Yes, on request: sponsor rematching, host-family safeguarding sessions with local authorities and DWP Universal Credit inductions for new arrivals.
Is Ukrainian the same as Russian?
No. Ukrainian and Russian are distinct East Slavic languages with different vocabulary, grammar and orthography. Many Ukrainians of an older generation speak Russian as a second language, and some prefer it in specific contexts, but institutional booking should specify Ukrainian unless the client actively requests otherwise. Post-February 2022 the language preference of Ukrainian arrivals is a matter to confirm directly with the client, not to assume.
Do you cover schools for Ukrainian children?
Yes. Ukrainian children placed in UK primary and secondary schools under Homes for Ukraine typically require Ukrainian language support for parents' evenings, EHCP and SEND review meetings, safeguarding conferences and admissions appeals.
Do you also handle Ukrainian document translation?
Yes. See our Ukrainian translation page for certified Ukrainian document translation (birth and marriage certificates from DRACS, passports, driving licences, diplomas, medical records, and Ministry of Foreign Affairs legalised documents). Same rate card in sterling, invoiced together if you need both interpreter and translated documents on one matter.
